John Kyle

John is a Director at Mitchell Daysh Ltd with over 37 years’ experience in planning and resource management, gained primarily in consultancy roles. He has played a lead role in numerous large-scale and nationally significant infrastructure projects, many involving multi-disciplinary teams and complex statutory processes. His expertise includes infrastructure development, asset rationalisation, and project due diligence – skills that are particularly relevant to the aviation and transport sectors. For more than 27 years, he has specialised in advising on plan changes, designations, and complex resource consents, with a strong focus on environmental effects assessments and environmental management.

As a seasoned expert witness, John has provided evidence before Boards of Inquiry, the Environment Court, the High Court and local authorities. He is broadly experienced in stakeholder engagement and managing consultation processes and community liaison on projects with high public interest.
